“For many months, I had been assembling my documents for dual citizenship with Italy. It was a tedious process that required certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates, along with a stack of other paperwork.
When it came time to obtain documents from Syracuse, I could not travel from California because of the pandemic. In addition, I needed the court’s permission to obtain my father’s certified birth certificate because he had passed away. When I looked into it, the process seemed rather complicated for the lay person, and I’d received conflicting information from others. What to do?
Caterina Ranieri was recommended to me from an online group of other citizenship applicants. When I contacted her, she said that she’s managed this process before and knew how to file the petition to get the birth certificate released. She then quickly obtained the necessary documents, and she filed a petition to the New York State Attorney General for approval to release my father’s certified birth certificate to me. That petition was approved.
I recently completed my entire application package, and I’m now on my way to having my Italian citizenship recognized. Caterina played an important role in helping me wrap up this process.
